ABOUT ME

About Me

I’m Julia Dandl,

an artist working across ceramics, photography, painting and material research.

My practice grows from a fascination with the relationship between landscape, history, memory and the things we make with our hands. I’m interested in fragments — in traces left behind, in objects that carry stories, and in the quiet details that connect the past with the present.

Alongside my artistic work, I keep Field Notes — an ongoing archive of observations, images, materials, research and small discoveries gathered along the way.

The emblem that accompanies my work comes from the family name Frois, inherited through my paternal grandmother. It is a small piece of family history that I chose to carry into my own practice.

For me, it has become a symbol of continuity: something inherited, remembered and given a new place.

I work slowly, observe closely, and collect what might otherwise be overlooked.
